Najee

Najee nascido em New York City,  era  membro da banda de Chaka Khan em 1983, (O Ain't Nobody Tour). Além de todos os saxofones (tenor, alto e soprano), Najee é um flautista realizado. Ele freqüentou a New England Conservatory of Music, em Boston. Ele é um dos primeiros inovadores de Urban Jazz Contemporâneo / Smooth Jazz, que cresceu em popularidade ao longo dos anos 1990 até hoje. Seus primeiros quatro discos de ouro certificado pela RIAA. Ele foi nomeado para um Grammy em 1988 para "Theme Najee's". Ele ganhou o Soul Train Music Awards em 1993 e 1995 para o melhor artista de jazz. A maioria dos prêmios mais recentes incluem O NAACP Image Awards 2006 e 2008 Trumpet Awards.

Najee executou e gravou com outros artistas, incluindo cantores Freddie Jackson, Will Downing, Phil Perry, Prince, Patti Labelle, Phyllis Hyman, e Jeffrey Osborne. Ele gravou e tocou com instrumentistas Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Larry Carlton, Billy Cobham, Charles Earland, Paul Jackson Jr. e George Duke. Em 1998 ele gravou um álbum tributo em homenagem a Stevie Wonder, com covers de canções do álbum Wonder 1976, Songs in the Key of Life. Ele também tocou e excursionou com o Príncipe 2001-2003 e gravou o "Rainbow Children CD" e é destaque no "One Night Alone" (Live) CD. Seu disco de maiores hits, The Best of Najee, foi lançado em 1998.
